More than a conqueror

Dear Antonio, Life has not always treated you kindly.
You've had many mountains to climb.
You've had many trials and stumbling blocks.
You've had no time to unwind.

But you've made it this far on your journey
Overcome task after Herculean task
Walked for many miles in tattered shoes,
Treaded dark paths without a flask

You've lost loved ones along the way my friend
People whose love you still pine for
Their memories still fresh in your mind
Their lessons a major part of your core

But you've fought many ole battles
Won far more than you've ever lost
Each battle holds a valuable lesson
Each battle bears a cost

But you are not the sum total of your battles won
The win-loss record's story is incomplete
No matter what the record says
Victory can always be achieved

For you are more than a conqueror, my friend
That title doesn't define who you are
It merely describes one aspect of yourself
Like the mere shine of a distant star

Continue to be strong my friend
Be encouraged until the very end
Continue to fight the very good fight of faith
For in the end you will surely win.
